About Me

Hey all, thanks for visiting my blog. I’m starting this site as a way to share some of my favorite meals, meal planning techniques – and also to show some of the fun projects that I’m trying to do around my apartment. My cooking style is flexible – I like to use what I have on hand, choose a flavor or cooking style, and create a healthy, vegetarian meal. I use whole grains, beans and legumes, and tons of veggies.

I want to live in a way that is conscious of how my actions impact others down the line. Especially in terms of food and purchases. In this blog, I’ll talk about how I try to eat and cook in a way that is ethical, and try to fill my life and home with beauty without making many purchases (especially from big stores).

I’m a nutrition educator, and in previous jobs I went to schools and after-school programs in Washington, DC to teach kids all about healthy eating and cooking. Last year I worked on an organic farm in western Massachusetts, and also taught cooking classes using food from my garden. Now I live in Chicago. I’m looking forward to creating meals and sharing them.
